The brakes
The brakes are the most important things of your cart. For a perfect function please pay attention to the following: Never bend the brake ropes! The brake ropes always have to glide lightly. Depending on the stress of the ropes it can be useful to change the ropes once a saison. The brakes can be adjusted with the screws at: - at the beginning of the brake ropes upt the brake levers
- at the end of each brake rope at the wheels
By turning out the screws you shorten the length of the ropes, by turning in you lengthem them. After every change you have to fix the screws again. The brakes are adjusted the right way if you here the brakes slipping while turning the wheel.

The drum brakes
The drum brakes are nearly maintenance-free. If the brake performance gets weaken you can rough the linings with sandpaper. This is also recommended if the brakes got overheated. For this work you have to remove the corresponding wheel. While you are working on the brakes please pay attention to the following: Never oil or grease on linings or drum! If the linings are nearly worned out till the sheets you have to replace them. Occasionally one drop of oil on the brake lever keeps it going (See arrow in figure 5).

It is possible that the linings are attritioned after 250 km! Tip: Control the linings every 50 km till you know how often you have to change them.
